Frequently Asked Question

Permanent Makeup Questions

(EYEBROWS)

1. Who should get permanent eyebrows?

Permanent eyebrows are a great option if you:

  1. Have very thin or no eyebrow hair
  2. Lost brow hair from over-plucking or a medical condition
  3. Find it hard to draw them on straight
  4. Have trouble seeing without glasses, but can’t wear them while applying makeup
  5. Are tired of your brow pencil rubbing off during the day.

This service is helpful for busy people, people with hair loss, or anyone who wants natural-looking brows every day without the hassle.

3. Can I show you how I like my brows?

Yes, please!

You can come to your appointment with your brows drawn in the way you normally wear them, or bring a photo of the style you like.

We’ll take a look and talk about:

  1. If it matches your face
  2. If it fits your age and skin type
  3. What kind of results are possible with permanent makeup

5. Does it hurt?

Most people say it’s not painful.

We use a strong numbing cream before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable the whole time.

7. Why choose Symétrie Studio?

We’re licensed, trained, and have years of hands-on experience with permanent makeup.

At Symétrie Studio:

  1. We listen to your needs
  2. We use high-quality, safe pigments and tools
  3. We design brows that look real and natural, not fake or trendy
  4. We follow strict hygiene and safety protocols

Your face is important — it deserves expert care.

2. What kind of look can I get?

We design brows based on your face shape, skin tone, and style. You can choose:

  1. Light hair-like strokes
  2. Soft powder-filled brows
  3. A full brow design that looks real
4. How do we make sure you get the right result?

Before anything starts, we talk through everything:

  1. What shape you want
  2. What color works best for your skin tone
  3. What your daily look is like

We draw your brow shape first, and you approve it before we tattoo anything.

We never rush this part — your comfort and confidence come first.

6. What happens after the procedure?

Once we finish:

  1. We give you clear aftercare instructions and healing products
  2. You’ll have a follow-up appointment in a few weeks to check how your brows healed and touch up any areas if needed

Healing is different for everyone, so we make sure you’re supported through the whole process.

(EYELINER)

1. Why would someone want permanent eyeliner?

No. Consultations are free, but not required. We’ll go over everything on the day of your appointment. However, if you're not a good candidate that day, you'll need to reschedule and pay a new deposit.

3. Why doesn’t it last as long as body tattoos?

We use pigments, not tattoo ink. Pigments give softer, more natural colors (browns, taupes, blush tones) that fade more gently over time.

5. Will I still need to use makeup?

You might! Some clients never use makeup again, others still touch up with pencil or gloss. It depends on your style, skin, and how defined you want the look.

7. How much does it cost?

Typically between $400–$800, depending on the area and service. We focus on quality, not just cost.

10. What if I don’t like it?

The color fades and softens during healing. We can adjust shape or tone at your follow-up if needed.

12. Are allergies to pigment common?

Very rare. But if you have makeup allergies, permanent cosmetics may actually be a good solution.

14. Do I need a touch-up?

Yes. A follow-up is usually needed after 6–12 weeks to perfect the shape or color.

7. How much does it cost?

Typically between $400–$800, depending on the area and service. We focus on quality, not just cost.

2. Can I get cosmetic tattooing while pregnant or nursing?

No, not while pregnant

Nursing? You’ll need your doctor’s permission

We break the skin and use numbing cream, so safety is important.

4. How long does permanent makeup last?

Usually 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin, lifestyle, and aftercare. Touch-ups help maintain the color.

6. Is it really “permanent”?

Yes, the pigment is tattooed into your skin, but it fades over time and will need color refreshers.

8. How long does the procedure take?

Most first sessions take 1 to 2.5 hours. Touch-ups are usually quicker.

9. Does it hurt?

Mild discomfort. We use numbing cream to keep you comfortable.

11. Any side effects?

Some swelling, tenderness, or slight bleeding may happen, especially with lips or eyeliner. It goes away in a few days.

13. Are there medical risks?

Minimal, especially if you follow the aftercare instructions. Most issues come from improper aftercare.

15. Can I still get an MRI after getting this done?

Yes. Just let your MRI technician know you have permanent cosmetics. Reactions are rare and temporary.

(LIP)

1. What is Permanent Lip Blushing?

Lip blushing is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that:

  1. Adds soft, natural color to your lips
  2. Defines your lip shape and border
  3. Creates a fuller, more youthful appearance
  4. Helps correct uneven lips or fading pigment

It’s perfect if your lips have lost color or shape over time—or if you're just tired of reapplying lipstick all day!

3. What does the procedure involve?
  1. We start by outlining your lips to create the most flattering shape
  2. Then we blend the color inward to avoid any harsh lip liner lines
  3. The result is a soft, flushed, and seamless color—customized to be as subtle or bold as you like
5. Is a follow-up required?

Yes. A follow-up appointment is scheduled 6 to 8 weeks after your initial procedure. This lets us:

  1. Review how your lips healed
  2. Make any small adjustments or touch-ups to perfect the color and shape
2. What are the benefits of lip blushing?

This treatment can:

  1. Bring back a youthful tint to your lips
  2. Enhance definition and symmetry
  3. Make lips look fuller without fillers
  4. Eliminate the need for daily lipstick
  5. Save time and give a fresh, natural look that lasts
4. What will my lips look like right after the appointment?
  1. Your lips will look more vibrant and bold for the first few days
  2. Within a week, they will exfoliate naturally, leaving behind a soft, natural tint

This is part of the normal healing process, and the final color will be lighter and more natural.

6. How long does lip blushing last?

Results typically last 2 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, skincare routine, and sun exposure. Touch-ups are recommended to maintain vibrancy over time.
