Lash: Aftercare

The first 48 hours after your lash service are important, but the first 24 are critical. Pay attention to

these important do’s and don’ts.

Do this:

  • Keep your lashes as dry as possible. Avoid swimming, humidity, or sweating as much as possible.

  • Sleep on your back, if possible.

  • CLEANSE Lashes DAILY: Use an oil free lash shampoo. For example: Johnson & Johnson No tears,

Symetrie Lash Bath or water. Use less than a dime size and diluted with water with a soft/fluffy makeup
brush or the eyelash brush that was sent home with you today. Feel free to reach out to us via text, e-mail
or by calling with any questions.

Don’t do this:

  • Don’t touch, pull or curl your new lashes. They’re beautiful and breathtaking to look at, of course, but

touching them may disturb the eyelash adhesive that may still be setting.

  • Don’t wear eye makeup of any kind, including mascara, eyeliner, or eyeshadow for the first 24 hours. DO

NOT EVER USE MASCARA on your extensions!

  • Don’t use oil-based cleansers. Keeping your face clean is important, but avoid cleansers with an oil base

because this may break down the eyelash adhesive.

  • Don’t use eye creams of any kind near your extensions. These are usually thick and oil-based, and are

therefore best avoided.

  • REMINDER: Lash cycles vary per person. Lash cycles can be very inconsistent due to vitamin deficiency

and hormone imbalances.

Brows: Pre-care

Care For Your Lashes

  • DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This is a 2 step process, and sometimes it is a multiple step process.

  •  Immediately after your procedure (also days 2-5),  brows will appear darker, solid, and painted on. We call this the “What did I do?” Phase. You may notice that there are harsh edges and slightly different shapes on the brows, one may be slightly higher or longer than the other, one side seems to have more strokes etc. This is normal - the skin swells and the brows are more prominent after and during the healing stage. They may also have a RED tint. This is because the skin is scratched and inflamed. Also, our pigment is pre-modified to ensure it doesn’t heal ashy in the skin. This will go away after they heal under the skin.

  • Once they have healed under the skin, the small things will not be noticeable and all of the edges soften. Any changes or add ons can be made at your touchup, nothing can be changed or added until your touchup. Please do not worry and call us during this healing process unless it is an emergency and we will be glad to help.

  • Around days 4-5 you may experience flaking and your brows may look dry. DO NOT PICK your flakes, let them fall off naturally. If it comes off prematurely, missing hair stokes will result and cause patchy brows.

  • BE PATIENT during your 2-3 week healing process, your brows will change and appear different from day to day, THIS IS NORMAL. They may go through a “Disappearing Stage”, where the color may seem to have all faded away or faded in some areas. DO NOT WORRY, the skin is exfoliating and this is normal. Color will return at week 2-4. Any that does not return can be added at touchup, no sooner.

  • Your brow tattoo will take up to 6-12 weeks to fully heal. When the crust comes, off the hair strokes may seem faint, this is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hair strokes will become clearer.

  • You may experience itchiness in the brows after 10 days and up to 2 months because of the healing of the dermal layer.

  • Not everyones brows can heal clean and crisp. Hair strokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined.
